Case studiesNCFE Level 2 NVQ in Spectator Safety
The qualification, developed with SkillsActive, the Sector Skills Council for Active Leisure and Learning, teaches candidates how to control and monitor people at spectator events, deal with crowd problems, manage conflict and deal with accidents and emergencies. Over the last 6 months, students at the Academy have been working hard to achieve the NVQ both in the classroom and also through being assessed at 2 national stadiums. The first presentation of certificates for the qualification saw over 30 candidates being awarded their certificates by the Director of Rugby, Rob Andrew, at Twickenham Rugby Stadium (pictured). The Academy recently enrolled 30 new candidates working at Wembley Stadium onto the Level 3 NVQ in Spectator Safety and hopes to have the same success with this qualification as with the Level 2 NVQ. Tony Knights from the Academy said: "This qualification has proved to be excellent and popular with all the candidates and the training team."
